Thursday November 18th AGM to be held prior to the VSO talk. Nominations required or the existing President, Treasurer and Secretary to be re-elected. Please contact Branwen if you would like to be nominated.


Friday December 3rd – Xmas Mealat the Oddfellows. If you wish to go please complete a menu and give to Julie Grinter or Branwen with a £5.00 deposit on Thursday 18th November.


Thursday December 16th – Xmas Party at the hall with musical entertainment, mince pies and mulled wine.

Wednesday 1st December – Christmas Concert at the Cheltenham Town HallThe special guest artistes are Lee Mead the winner of TV's "Any dream will do" and the Ribston Hall Dancers. Cost is £15.00. If you are interested in going please contact WI House direct as tickets sell out very quickly. PTO

Sunday 22nd August – August Walk All meet at The Swan Hotel at 3:00pm to go on a gentle stroll around the village of Bibury coming back to the hotel at approximately 3:45pm for afternoon tea. If you wish to come for the tea only please arrive shortly before 3:45pm.


Thursday 16th September – Virgin Make Up A session on how to make the most of your features using different makeup. The talk will be about the use of different products although a couple of volunteers may be required to demonstrate techniques on how to apply the makeup.

Thursday 23rd September – At Waitrose Meet outside the main doors of Waitrose at 7:00pm. The demonstration this evening is on healthy food.

Saturday 2nd October – A walk at Duntisbourne Abbots A 2, 4 and 6 mile circular walk in and around Duntisbourne Abbots. Meet at the village hall at 10:15am for a 10:30am prompt start returning for a ploughman's lunch. Tickets cost £5.00 per person and open to non members. Thursday 17th June – Garden Party - This year's Garden Party is being held at Branwens (please park in the cemetery car park on the main road). No cost to members and a charge of £3.00 for visitors. Starting at 7.00pm. Please bring along a selection of cakes , books and Jams to sell

Thursday 15th July – Making a Fascinator A taster session on making a fascinator.With the wedding season coming up this is one session not to miss

Thursday 27th May – An Evening Walk along the Cotswold Canal – starting at 7.00 from Cerney Wick (The Crown) and ending back at the Crown for a meal. A table has been booked for 8.00pm for the off the menu food (not a set meal) Everyone is welcome including partners. There is no cost except for the meal.

Saturday 19th June - A walk at Brimscombe & Thrupp - there are 2,4 and 6 mile guided walks. Register at 10.15 for a prompt 10.30 start at the social centre. Return for a ploughman's lunch served by the Brimscombe & Thrupp WI. Cost £5.50 pp. Closing date for tickets 27th May. Speak to Judy if you are interested or call Jenny Cooper on 01242 525559.

– From 7.00pm in the Parish Rooms Cirencester.

May Newsletter





Thursday 20th May – Line Dancing – by special request. Everyone had such a good time at the xmas party we have asked them back.

April Newsletter



Thursday 22nd April – First Choice Holidays. A representative from the company will be coming to advise on what holidays are available and the best places to go.


Thursday 20th May – Line Dancing – by special request. Everyone had such a good time at the xmas party we have asked them back.

New Stratton WI Newsletter


Thursday 18th February - Rob Rees MBE - The Cotswold Chef has a passion for indulging everyone in the revolution in British food and farming. The culinary path to the success of the Cotswold Chef has been based on sound training at Westminster College, Le Gavroche and the Royal Crescent Hotel in Bath. Rob's own former restaurant, The Country Elephant, won AA, Good Food Guide and Michelin status - WI
members free, non members - £5.00 this includes refreshments.



Thursday 18th March – Jim Billings - Landscape gardener with many years experience will be giving a talk on the wonders of the English garden an showing how the different plants complement each other. There will be an opportunity to buy the plants at the end of the talk.

Thursday 21st January 2010 - Life as a Magistrate - Sue Alexander and John Lafford are coming back to give a talk about the life of a magistrate and hopefully have a mock trial.
